Walk in NYC # 11, the multiple sides of Upper West Side, offers you a vast diversity of experiences in one of the most expensive neighborhoods of the city. It's a 3 miles self-guided tour that will take you about 2 hours of strolling and taking photos, much more if you visit the different highlights along the way and take your time along the Hudson River. There are also a few possible shortcuts that will allow you to adapt it to your needs. 🥞There is an excerpt of it below to give you an idea of what it is. ❤️🔥Otherwise, it is available in full for a few $ on Payhip/ImagesVoyagesImpressions in a PDF file that you'll be able to download on your phone. 🎈NB:
A: Your walk begins at the ... and you'll find it on Columbus Avenue, across from the ... subway station. It's a little museum with no entrance fee, a rarity in New York, and it houses a beautiful collection of art by self-taught artists. It also sometimes offers concerts in its lobby. Allow about 45 minutes to visit it. B: When you're done with it, take ... in front of you. On its right, along the Julian School, a staircase then at the top left a pedestrian bridge. On its left, another staircase if you want to go faster. Both will take you to Hearst Square with its mirror pool, a sculpture by Moore and a sloping terrace covered in grass. This is your first stop at ..., a complex of about 30 performance buildings, many of them world-renowned like the Metropolitan Opera or the New York Philharmonic. The whole thing dates from the 1960s and this can be seen in its rather severe architecture. Recent renovations however, particularly on the squares, make it a pleasant walk and a good crowd-watching point. The fountain and the surrounding buildings, illuminated at night, are particularly spectacular. If it's open, go see the famous staircase of the Metropolitan Opera; otherwise take a look at it from the outside! Then take ... through Damrosch Park and its amphitheater where outdoor concerts are quite common at night (see FYI above). Once you reach Amsterdam Ave, turn right. Then take ... on the left.
