Walk in NYC # 2, the essentials of Lower Manhattan, is the second of my 4 favorites to introduce New York to newcomers. It is an unusual 4 miles self-guided tour that covers the main attractions of Lower Manhattan and other parts less traveled. You'll see the Statue of Liberty and the One World Tower, between other highlights, but it's possible you'll remember it for other things you'll see on your way. 🍰There is an excerpt of it below to give you an idea of what it is. ❤️ Otherwise, it is available in full for a few $ on Payhip/ImagesVoyagesImpressions in a PDF file that you'll be able to download on your phone. 😁NB:
A: Take the subway to ... and you’ll exit into a small park in front of ..., in the middle of majestic buildings from the 19th and early 20th centuries. Most are administrative buildings and the contrast is great between the noise of the fountain and that of the street. If you are missing maps of the city, there is a tourist information kiosk there. You can visit the superb NYC ... that you’ll see here, it's free and impressive but find out beforehand about the opening hours and entry procedures because since Covid, it's more complicated. Otherwise or after that, take Broadway south and pass in front of the superb neo-Gothic ... building which can also be visited. For 17 years it was the tallest building in the world. Then take ... St on your right, just after St Paul's Church where you can first pop in to learn more about its role after 9/11. It was the tallest building in New York at the end of the 18th century. B: Once on ... St, you will see after a while on your left the superb ... building which is also the arrival point of Walk in NYC # 4. Enter it even if only at street level to see its interior architecture but come out immediately otherwise you could end your walk there if you start exploring all its stores! Further on your right you will be in front of the One World Tower and on your left, there will be the 9/11 Memorial Reflecting Pools and the Museum. It will take you around two hours to visit the museum if you want to see what happened there before, during and after 9/11, but buy your ticket in advance to avoid waiting in line for too long. The experience is harrowing. If you also want to go up to the One World Center observatory, an unforgettable experience as much for the elevator ride as for the view you will have from above, reserve in advance too and allow at least an hour for this visit. And if you go just before sunset and wait until nightfall, you will probably have to continue this walk tomorrow! (The rest is in the pdf...) Find this Walk in NYC #2, the essentials of Lower Manhattan, at Payhip.com/ImagesVoyagesImpressions, along with some of the 17 others of the same series that you might like, all updated regularly, and you’ll soon be on your way to unique adventures! NB: In case you haven't seen it already, the map showing you where all these walks are is on the Walk in NYC page, as well as links to some walks’ bundles offers and suggestions for your first visit.
