Choose Walk in Boston # 17, from Brigham Circle to West Fenway, to go from universities campus to a famous ballpark by way of the Greenway with its meandering body of water built over previous marshes. It is a 3 miles unusual self-guided tour where you'll explore a part of Boston often far from the beaten path. You'll see many geese, some communal gardens, Fenway Park, and many students jogging along the body of water. 🥞There is an excerpt of it below to give you an idea of what it is. ❤️🔥Otherwise, it is available in full for a few $ on Payhip/ImagesVoyagesImpressions in a PDF file that you'll be able to download on your phone. 🎈NB:
A: Your walk begins at the Brigham Circle T-stop exit, but the map here doesn't help you because it doesn't indicate the passageways inside the buildings. It takes you to the right and that's a solution but if you want more adventure, go to the left instead, cross Huntington Ave and head towards the entrance of an annex of Brigham and Women's Hospital; then cross its ground floor and exit onto Shattuck St following the directions to the cafeteria; there will be an exit at the end of the corridor. B: In either case, you will then be behind Gordon Hall, one of the architectural jewels of Harvard Medical School. If you have not yet done Walk in Boston # 16 which arrives there and describes Gordon Hall in more detail, the Warren Anatomy Museum which almost ends this tour is on your right. In any case, go to the right of Gordon Hall as you probably can't cross it and you will reach the impressive Quad Lawn and at its end, you will be facing Pasteur Ave. Take Pasteur Ave. to head towards Fenway. You'll see Simmons College on your right, a modernist building for a traditionally liberal education. Further on Fenway that you will take on the left, you will have the more classic and Catholic Emmanuel College. These two universities have long welcomed women only. C: Students living in this part of Boston often run on the Fens; they share this circular park with lots of wild geese and it's now where you go to feel like you are in nature once you cross Fenway. Created around former marshes transformed into ponds lined with reeds, this place is one of the links of the Emerald Necklace, a set of green spaces which connect different parts of Boston. D: Arriving at ... Ave, take the bridge on your right and head towards a superb art-deco building, the Landmark Center. (The rest is on the pdf...) Ready to explore the city on your own?
